About Our Select Program U13-U19

The Select Soccer program is an opportunity for your child to progress to an escalated level in their journey to advance in the game of soccer. The Select Soccer program is where your child will build from the recreational level and far surpass the skills gained through recreational play. Trainers and/or coaches have taken courses and are constantly pursuing new knowledge in order to advance the children of the Select program to the highest level a child desires. This includes technical and tactical training, fitness and team play.

The competition at this level is very intense. The Select program starts at the U-13 age group and peaks at the U-19 group. All prospective player must attend tryouts and are then selected to a team. A new player may be added during the season at the coaches discretion. Coaching staff are assigned by the DOC.

The Athena Program is the highest and most competitive level for girls and the Classic Program is the highest and most competitive level for boys.The number of teams in each division is determined by participation in the state. Teams are ranked depending on their prior season's standings. All rules under FIFA "Laws of the Game" and the GYSC Rules and Regulations apply except where stipulations are noted.

The Select Program requires a family to be an integral part in their child's growth in their soccer skills. This is due to the amount of scheduled practices (at least two nights a week) and travel required in the state of Georgia and to possibly play in some tournaments in other states and possibly other countries. Players must maintain their skill level and fitness off practice and off season so they don't lose their playing edge.

Games are played during the weekend.

Fees:
U13-U19: $460, includes trainer/coaches fees and summer camp.

Spring Practice Begins: February, 2010

Spring season Opens: March 6, 2010

Fall Try-Outs: June, 2010. Coaches will notify players of selection to their team. Players may be added during season.

Summer Camp: July 26-30, 2010

Fall Practice Begins: August, 2010

Fall Season Begins: September 11, 2010
